All members of the Shenandoah University community including guests and visitors have a reasonable expectation to be free from 性ual discrimination in the form of 性ual misconduct by any other member of the university community.
As a recipient of federal funds, the University complies with 第九条 of the Education Amendments of 1972 (第九条). 第九条 provides that: “No person in the United States shall, on the basis of 性, be excluded from participation in, be denied benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.”
Instances of 性ual misconduct and 性ual violence are serious violations of university policy and are prohibited. Shenandoah University considers 性ual misconduct to be one of the most serious violations of the values and standards of the university. Sexual misconduct encompasses a wide range of behavior that includes but is not limited to 性ual assault, 性骚扰, 跟踪, dating violence or domestic violence. The university is committed to education, prevention and response to all behaviors that violate its non-discrimination policy. Any individual – including faculty, 工作人员, 学生, guests and visitors – whose conduct violates this policy will be subject to disciplinary action in accordance with the 第九条 policy and/or any other university policy. Shenandoah University is committed to resolving formal complaints of 性ual misconduct according to university policy and providing support to those who have been affected by 性ual misconduct.
